It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of a long-time, beloved member, Midge Aycock, who passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2021. Midge had been one of our most active and dedicated members for over 15 years. There wasn’t an event sponsored by the Board of Lady Managers that she didn’t fully participate in, from its planning stages through to execution and wrap-up. For our annual Little Theater event, she regularly baked for our intermission ‘sweets’ reception and was a reliable member of the set-up, break-down and clean-up teams, along with her husband, Marlyn. Year after year, she did the hard work to manage the Children’s Section of the Silent Auction, from documenting the items for auction, to perfecting the display, to distributing the purchased goods, all while hosting a luncheon table. She was a dependable volunteer at the Gift Shop from the day the Board of Lady Managers assumed responsibility for its operations, taking on the tasks of being a cashier and buyer, and shouldering all duties necessary to keep the shop open and well stocked.
Midge was born July 21, 1934, in North Branch, MN. She spent a beautiful life raising a family and engaged professionally in teaching and human resourcing. She helped found and operate the Timothy Aycock Melanoma Research Foundation in honor of her son. She came to the Board of Lady Managers through Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We miss and mourn the loss of our dear friend, a stalwart devotee of the Board of Lady Managers mission.
